Swami Vivekananda Jayanti: His famous quotes that inspire and motivate

Namaste.

If you have a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow the heart.

—- Swamy Vivekananda.

Brain will calculate profit and loss.

Heart will calculate punya and papa.

— Prof. V. Meenakshi Jayakumar

Namaste.

In a day, when you don’t come across any problems – you can be sure that you are travelling in a wrong path.

— Swamy Vivekananda.

Each day is a new day in our life. We face new new challenges, get new ideas, each day  why each day every second our body changes, gets older and we save experiences. So when we say we are improving then our life style will be different from that of ordinary easy goers. New thoughts and deeds will face problems. So we have to improve ourselves in a better way than yesterday.  Common hurry up. Leave the laziness. Have courage. Work hard. Speak less. No less, in face minimum. What is necessary you speak. Otherwise keep quiet. Learn new things. Practice what you know already.

Namaste.

All power is within you; you can do anything and everything.  Believe in that, do not believe that you are weak; do not believe that you are half-crazy,  lunatics, as most of us do nowadays.  You can do anything and everything without even the guidance of anyone. Stand up and express the divinity within you.

— Swamy Vivekananda.

Yes we have all powers within us. We are the microlevel human beings of macro level cosmic energy. What is in the universe, is also within us. We have to equalize the wave length with the nature. Nature has abundance of strength. We also have the equal strength. We can attain that strength only if we align our energy with nature. We are not weak. We are not lunatic, we are not half-crazy. We are the sons and daughters of the great Mother Earth who has extraordinary strength within Her to give us.

Common stand up ; fix a goal, aim for it. You will achieve it. God bless us all.

—– Prof. V. Meenakshi Jayakumar

Namaste.

Common answer me.

Who is the most successful person in the world?

Thinking.. thinking.. ok I will give you the answer of Swamy Vivekananda to this question.

The great secret of true success, of true happiness, is this; the man or woman who asks for no return, the perfectly unselfish person, is the most successful.

—-Swamy Vivekananda.

Yes. Very true Swamiji.

Even in our everyday life, we can see the small baby, kids, they are very happy and they have true success, because they don’t expect anything from anyone. They live happy and everything is done for them. Simply because they don’t expect.. they are unselfish .. so they are most successful.  Even in some family, the head of the family whether man or lady will sacrifice everything for the happiness of their family and they don’t expect anything in return. Of course, very rare. If this feeling expands to the whole country, whole world, whole universe then they become GOD for ever.

—-Prof. V.Meenakshi Jayakumar.

What is to be rejected?

Anything that makes weak – physically, intellectually and spiritually, reject is as poison.

–Swami Vivekananda.

Belief is strength. Weakness is death. Yes. Be alert. Be courageous. Be focused.

Don’t be weak physically. – Avoid the things which make you weak. Whether it is food, sleep, friendship, computer, mobile, laptop, indoor games.

Don’t be weak intellectually . – Start reading of your own. You know how to read. Then you read. Why depend on others to preach you? They will give you only their point of view in any matter. Sri Krishna says, if you have any doubt in whatever be the matter consult, scriptures, purana and ithihasas.

So read those books. If we read all these books our intellectual capacity can grow strong. And we can find correct answers for all our problems. And we can be able to solve others also to some limited extent.

Don’t be weak spiritually. – spiritual path is different for each jeeva. Depending on their previous karma and present karma a jeeva will attain proper spiritual knowledge as that is the highest of all knowable things.

So attain strength in spiritual matter. Surrender yourselves to a Guru He will show us the right path in spiritual matters.

Food for thought – Faith in ourselves

Namaste all.

The cornerstones of Faith and Confidence | Magic of Awakening

In Tamil there was one great poet Kaniyan  Poongundran said,

Nandrum Theedhum Pirar thara vaara

Swami Vivekananda says:

swami vivekananda | Love Motivated Life

The ideal of faith in ourselves is of the greatest help to us….

We have to accept that we are responsible for our current situation.

What we are today, is only because of us.

We have to accept that we are responsible for our current level of capability.

We have to accept that we are responsible for our responses and choices.

We have to help ourselves.

We have to take decisions and find solutions for our problems.

We have to be strong enough that is have grit to struggle through any problem.

We have to be strong enough and should not give up.

we have to develop faith in ourselves to help ourselves rather than wanting and waiting for others to help.

Swami Vivekananda says:

The history of the world is the history of a few men who had faith in themselves.  That faith calls our the divinity within.

If you have faith in all the three hundred and thirty millions of your mythological Gods, and in all the Gods which foreigners have now and again introduced into your midst, and still have no faith in yourselves, there is no salvation for you.  Have faith in yourselves and stand up on that faith and be strong. that is what we need.

Have the faith, each one you, in yourself – that eternal power is lodged in every soul – and you will receive the whole of India.

Do not say we are weak; we can do anything and everything.  What can we not do? Everything can be done by us; we all have the same glorious soul, let us believe in it.

A Journey of the Atman and the Nature of Man: Katha Upanishad, An ...

Have faith, as Nachiketa.  At the time of his father’s sacrifice, faith came unto Nachiketa; ah, I wish that faith would come to each one of you would stand up a giant, a world-mover with a gigantic intellect – an infinite God in every respect. That is what I want you to become.

…. yes Swamiji… I am saying I am not weak; we are not weak.  I am strong I am grit. we are strong.

I can do anything and we can do everything. I have the same amount, why much more than that faith Nachiketa had.. I will become fearless and faithful. Swamiji..

significance of symbols

Swami Vivekananda says:- If a man can realise his divine nature with the help of an image, would it be right to call that a sin? Nor even when he has passed that stage, should he call it an error.  To the Hindu, man is not travelling from error to truth, but from truth to truth, from lower to higher truth.  To him all the religions, from the lowest fetishism to the highest absolutism, mean so many attempts of the human soul to grasp and realise the Infinite, each determined by the conditions of its birth and association, and each of these marks a stage of progress; and every soul is a young eagle soaring higher and higher, gathering more and more strength, till it reaches the Glorious Sun..

So in every religion, there are three parts; philosophy, mythology, and ritual.  Philosophy of course is the essence of every religion; mythology explains and illustrates it by means of the more or less legendary lives of great men, stores and fables of wonderful things, and so on; ritual gives to that philosophy a still more concrete form, so that every one may grasp it.

Ritual is also called Karma; it is necessary for every religion, to explain its philosophy through Karma and to make understand the followers of that particular religion  and spiritual things till they acquire proper maturity spiritually.  Man is also a kind of symbol.  Words itself the symbols of thought.

All the symbols have very many reason behind them. There are some natural association between the humans and the symbols and even to Gods.  In fact, the symbols to represent ideas may be of two types.

  1. Sound symbol
  2. colour symbol.

When the five karma indriyas and five gnana indriyas working, they can choose whatever type of symbol they want. For example, deaf and dumb people will think of colour symbols, whereas blind people can think of sound symbols.  It is said that every though in the mind has a form as its counterpart ie.. with name and form.

so according to Swami Vivekananda, In religion we have first, symbols and forms; next, mythology; and last, philosophy.  The first two are for the time being; philosophy is the underlying basis of all, and the others are only stepping stones in the struggle to reach the Ultimate.

The sun and the lotus were the first symbols.
The importance of sun we all know.  The Lotus, the flower is closely associated with all Gods.

  1. Sun : In ancient days, it is believed that the Sun is the God of Justice. Surya is the Hindu God. The solar deity. The margam of praying to God Surya is called Saura tradition or Saura margam. Surya is an epithet for the mummoorthys Brahma, Vishna and Maheswara, that is the creator (GENERATOR – G) , the operator (OPERATOR – O)  and the destroyer (DESTROYER-D) THAT MEANS SURYA HIMSELF GOD..Surya is the dispeller of darkness, and He who empowers knowledge, the good and all life.
  2. Surya is the giver of life, light and energy from ancient times, in every land, the sun has been recognized and adored as the most patent symbol of the Supreme.
  3. Sage Agastya instructs Sri Rama to have the blessings of Surya. Sage Agastya boost up Rama to chant the Adityahiridayam, the hymn on the Solar deity.

Aditya Hridayam-- In praise of the Sun, By sage Agastya to Rama ...

  1. The most powerful sacred mantra, “Gayathri” has been addressed to Lord Surya Narayanamoorthy, requesting Him to stimulate our consciousness.

  1. It is said that the seven horses are named after the seven meters of Sanskkrit prosody: Gayathri, Brihati, Ushnih, Jagati, Trushtubha, Anushtubha and Pankti.

  1. it is also said that it is the seven colors of the sun light which reach us on our earth, give us warmth, balance our life and sustain the life.
  2. And also Horses, in Vasstu sastra, symbolizes success, progress and power.   Horse is a smart, loyal and brave, and has an air of nobility, grace and elegance, for which it is believed that the running horse statues bring good luck.
  3. The best example for One appearing as many is explained by the the simile of the one sun in the sky getting reflected as so many solar images in a number of water pots.  it is explained as the images may seem to disappear when the pots are broken, but the real sun i.e. Brahman is not affected in the least.
